A place for you

We want to give you a warm welcome and for you to find out more about Jesus, and about Kettering Vineyard, what we value and what we do

The Story So Far

David & Elaine have been part of the Vineyard church family for many years. We began to sense God’s call to church planting in 2010.  We explored leadership within a local church and joined the Vineyard Hub Training programme and other Vineyard leadership training.

In 2016 we joined Central Vineyard in Northampton who were exploring a multi-site model of growing the church and in 2017 we went on to found and become Site Pastors of Central Vineyard Kettering. We began a small group in our home in autumn 2017. This involved meals, coffee, biscuits and cakes and seeing a community beginning to be built. We started a small Sunday gathering in our home in autumn 2019 which quickly grew so we began to meet in a café; after outgrowing that the Kettering site moved to a fortnightly Sunday morning gathering and a once a month evening gathering in the centre of Kettering.

And then the Covid pandemic struck – we weren’t able to meet face to face apart from occasional small open air gatherings for over a year. We continued to meet on Zoom and connect with one other through WhatsApp and other channels online. In 2020 God began to make it clear to us and the Senior Pastors of Central Vineyard that it was time for the site to become a church plant and Kettering Vineyard Church became a reality!  We are excited to have been launched as a church plant at the end of April 2021. Since then, we have been meeting regularly as we seek to see God’s Kingdom extended in Kettering and further beyond.

We meet regularly on Sundays and other times at Hope UK, 50 Gold St, Kettering NN16 8JB (entrance right opposite Boots, and parking available in School Lane and Wadcroft car parks). We would love you to join us: for more details see our Calendar page.

WHO WE ARE

David & Elaine Roberts (Senior Pastors)

David came to know Jesus in his teens through friends at his school. He trained to be a doctor and is now working part-time as a GP in a local practice. Elaine became a Christian in her late teens at college. She works part-time as an administrator for a small charity which looks after church buildings. We are captivated by the love of Jesus and want to share him with everyone we meet. We love to see God work in people’s lives through the power of the Holy Spirit, and want to welcome God’s Kingdom wherever we go.

A family of churches

In 2017 Central Vineyard Northampton set out on a journey of multiplication, this resulted in the planting of three other sites, together functioning as a multisite church. As we moved forward after Covid, we started to reimagine what it means for us to continue to be a church that multiplies.

As we started this process, we went from being defined as 'one church in multiple locations' towards what we are describing as 'a family of churches', with growing churches in Northampton (Central Vineyard) Kettering Vineyard, Raunds (Nene Valley VIneyard) and Milton Keynes (Garden City Vineyard). We believe this will give each church location more autonomy and enable us to go further than we've previously imagined, while remaining rooted in the conviction that we are better together than alone. In practice this means that everything we do flows out of a foundation of friendship, where we are seeking to learn together, share resources and collaborate, with a renewed commitment of planting even more healthy reproducing churches.
